Angie Stickels, Hot Springs
Angie tries to design functional and nonfunctional pieces which are both very personal and hopefully, made to please the eye of others. Each piece is carefully assembled from individual parts. Her work is whimsical, approachable and begs to be used while remaining structured enough to stand alone. She loves the interplay of bright colored glazes and the possibilities of multiple decorative designs. Because ceramic materials are involved in our lives daily, they have a built in ability to provoke a response. The teapot asks to be held. It animates the vessel with the possibility of heat, aroma and the promise of something delicious inside.
